Our style of rosé is light crisp, low ALC%, and refreshing. I like to say our rosé is not just for lunch but for breakfast too! We produce our rosé using a two different styles. One is called Saignée (“sohn-yay”) means “to bleed,” which involves “bleeding” off a portion of Pinot Noir juice after it’s been in contact with the skins for a short time. Saignée is considered a byproduct of red winemaking because its primary function is to increase the concentration of red wines. Still, Saignée is a unique style of rosé wine because it is so often bolder and darker in color than any other rosé wine. In addition to Saignée, we dedicate a few tons of Pinot Noir straight to the press. The dedicated lot is lighter in color and higher in acid. When the two come together you have a nice balance between the two. Our rosé is slightly darker than some but has elegance and balance and showcases the benefits of both techniques.
